This one-week, immersive class will give participants instruction on a variety of painting media as well as a chance to experiment with mixed media. Each project comes with a short, fun lesson and topics range from a broad understanding of art history to basic formal fundamentals such as color theory and composition.
The week is designed to strike an entertaining balance between traditional painting knowledge/instruction and playful experimentation. The class is great for varying skill levels, all you need is an interest in art and a desire to see where it can take you.
Taryn Singleton received her BA in studio arts and a minor in women and gender studies from the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina and her MFA in painting with a minor emphasis in printmaking from the University of Tulsa. She makes paintings, prints, collages, and embroideries that operate within the same frame of visual intention. Taryn teaches art at Dewey High School, works out of her studio in Bartlesville, and exhibits regionally.
