Abattre is the brainchild of creative partners Fayez Mansour and Jordan Wright. Named after a speech by late Burkina Faso leader Thomas Sankara, and stemming from a mutual desire to write interesting music about important stories, the 6-piece band covers a variety of topics and genres. Fayez Mansour is a guitarist, recording engineer, songwriter and occasional gadget-builder. Jordan Wright is a classically trained composer, songwriter, singer, and keyboardist. The two share a mutual love for history, as well as general restlessness when it comes to genre and style. The band’s main focus is on careful rehearsal, and “sky’s the limit” songwriting. The lineup of supporting musicians is as follows: Chad Henderson on drums and backup vocals, Shadi Nadri on auxiliary percussion, keys, and backup vocals, Chris West on flute, auxiliary percussion, and backup vocals, and Robert Hunt on Bass. Through their performances they hope to inspire, inform, and entertain as many people as possible.
