Stillness/Movement presents established and emerging Korean American painters, video, and installation artists David B. Jang, Hei Myung C. Hyun, Hyesook Park, and Kakyoung Lee. The exhibition will investigate the ways in which artists draw from cultural precedent to innovate forms, communicate new ideas, and explore intersecting identities. Through hands-on learning elements and audience-friendly interpretation, visitors to Stillness/Movement will leave the exhibition with an appreciation for Korean American contemporary art.
This exhibition is a joint venture of ahha Tulsa and the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles, with programmatic support from the Gilcrease Museum. Operated by the Korean government’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Korean Cultural Center is dedicated to providing insights into the rich cultural heritage of Korea.
