Welcome to Ekphrastic the Fantastic! In this class, we will journey down the unforgettable road of Ekphrastic poetry, where art and poetry join together to create another art form. We will study the basics of different forms of poetry before landing on Ekphrastic poetry where the only rule is, there are no rules! Through Ekphrastic poetry, we will explore paintings, sculptures, and art objects as inspiration for our writing, which meets Oklahoma Academic Standards for English Language Arts.

$25/1 unit per class (minimum of 2 classes must be booked back-to-back); $25/1 unit per hour of residency + one-time $100/4 unit planning fee

Artists in the Schools is available for use by all schools and educational institutions, public or private. Program costs are listed on individual offering pages. Tulsa, Jenks, and Owasso Public Schools teachers and staff are able to book through Artists in the Schools at no cost to individual sites because district funds have been allocated to the program.
